A chance meeting twenty years ago between two people led to forming one of the leading wine companies in the Philippines.
Golden Wines started in 2005 as a collaboration among acquaintances and friends with diverse backgrounds, sharing a common passion for experiencing wines. The partners have a total combined solid 50+ years experience in various backgrounds of sales, marketing, general management, and entrepreneurship.
Melvin D. Sua spearheaded the beginnings and brought together the founding team members. His background in sales, marketing, general management in the fields of fast-moving consumer goods as well as travel goods merchandising helped start and form the venture. These days, he has taken a serious interest in Nihonshu 日本酒 (Japanese sake) and constantly learns more about all things sake.
Sherwin A. Lao is a highly sought-after wine expert in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region. He brings with him a wealth of wine knowledge & expertise, technical skills, as well as sales & marketing of wines in the country and APAC region. His creativity and spirited approach push and propel business forward. He is also a noted wine journalist and is a member of The Circle of Wine Writers since 2018. He regularly contributes to the leading media outlets.
Herbie L. Tan brings a strong sense of financial and operation control, gained from running various commodity-based ventures. His background experience complements and supports the dynamic plans and business growth.
